Caitlyn,
Your story brings warmth to my heart. I am so proud of you! Your decision to put forth your savings to help save your little guinea pig is so admirable. I believe that good things happen to good people and your actions are a true testiment to that. Enjoy your new iPod and your new bunny. Thank your mom for sharing your story with us.
One of your teachers,
Mrs. Mulhern

Hi, everyone! I'm Caiti the one with the guinea pig. I just want to say how happy and glad I am that all of you did this! I just cannot believe it.
Yesterday is when I recieved the ipod along with a wonderful letter. I was so surprised! My dad took a video of me reading it and I was crying sooo hard. I want to thank you all so much for making donations and writing those messages. It means so much to me. My guinea pig is no longer with me anymore. We had to put her to sleep last friday. I've learned that you just have to move on from things that are hard to let go. Everyone has helped me do that especially the vets who helped my guinea pig along with my mom and my dad. Thanks everyone!
If the person that set up this website lets me, I'd like to post pictures of Rosie so you can see what a beautiful little pig she was.

Hey Caiti it's Tyler,
Congratulations on your selfless generosity! I guess since I'm your brother's best friend I get bragging rights for having such an awesome best friend's younger sister.
Sincerely,
Tyler

Hi. I'm Caiti's mom and I just had to write and thank each and every one of you who donated money and signed this guest book with your well wishes. When I got the call yesterday explaining what had been done for Caiti, my husband and I were speachless. To say we were touched wouldn't even come close to how we're feeling. Caiti has no idea what has been done for her yet. I'm sure when she sees this website that she will want to write a message to you all herself, but I didn't want to let this day go by without expressing our gratitude, for it's only by the kindness of strangers that we find ourselves here writing you today.
I also wanted to update you on Cocoa... who's real name is Rosie. Dispite medications and middle of night syringe feedings, lots of love and prayer, Rosie passed away last Friday in Caiti's arms. These past weeks have been very difficult for all of us. Caiti is grieving, as I'm sure you all can understand, but has also learned so much through this process. She has always said she wanted to work in a pet hospital, but was afraid of having to see animals sick and in pain. She's grown through this process of nursing Rosie and seeing her through to the very end, and has a much different outlook on it now.
Caiti will for certain enjoy the iPod and gift card, and it's very fitting that the remaining money gets donated to help other Guinea Pigs like Rosie, but the real story here is how a total stranger not only felt moved to help a little girl, but then acted on it by spreading the word and causing a chain reaction of kindness. We're absolutly blown away by you all! The best way we can describe how we feel is a quote out of How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The one that goes something like, "His heart grew three sizes that day." Thank you all so, so much. We'll write again and update you after Caiti gets the package and reads this website.
Sincerely,
Danny and Laurie

Hello from the Twin Cities Guinea Pig Rescue!
My name is Allysse, I am the director/founder of TCGPR. I would like to applaud both this girl, her mother, and the site owner for seeking and encouraging vet care for these small animals.
As a 12 year old I owned guinea pigs and often struggled with my parents to take the guinea pig in to the vet and find a way to pay for it. I know from personal experience that this is no small feat.
It is encouraging to see a parent who is willing to help their child bring their pet to the vet. It is more encouraging to see a young person sacrifice their own wants for the needs of a living being. It is heartwarming to see someone go out of their way to reward the young owner for her compassion. And I am astonished that so many people are willing to help to achieve this goal.
We started our new year by taking in 35 guinea pigs in poor shape. One of them only has three legs. I can not express how uplifting it was to see that these guinea pigs might benefit from this as well.
Thank you.

Edit: When I said I pay everything except for vet bills, I would also sell my iPod to pay for vet bills if neccessary.

Guinea pigs are so much more fun than an iPod.
I hope you and Cocoa have a happy 2008!

I'm twelve and I'd take my guinea pig over an iPod any day. I pay everything of my pig's except for veterinarian bills. I never really see kids my age who treat their pets [especially guinea pigs] as they should. I want to say thanks to the girl. I'd donate if I could, but like I said, I'm only twelve and I spend most of my money on my pig. Donate to her!!! It will tell young pet owners to be kind to their animals!!!!!!
